Another potential fault with the Volkswagen T5 can be the drive system! specifically the drive shafts, unlike conventional drive shafts which go inside the gearbox Volkswagen use a stub axle that does that and the drive shaft in turn is fitted to that via a splined connection! this connection is where the problem can occur with the splines wearing out which unfortunately ends up a break down situation and the vehicle requiring recovery This is a job where the price can vary dramatically due to the difference in how much a new shaft and stub can be purchased!
VW T4 Ball Joints
A fairly common issue with the Volkswagen Transporter Type 4 (T4) can be the suspension ball joints, these can be replaced individually or we have an offer where we replace all 4 ball joints (top and bottom) for £200, for that extra piece of mind.
VW T5 2.5 Clutch and Dual Mass Flywheel
The tell tale signs of your T5 may need a clutch and or flywheel can be the obviously starting to slip under hard acceleration, rattle or noise coming from the passenger side of the bonnet area or even a rough jerky engine whilst at idle!
VW T4 Gear Selector Bush Replacment
Another common problem with the VW T4 can be worn or even completely missing gear selector bushes/balls. This may be evident by having excessive movement in the gear stick and difficulty in changing gear. This is a job that can be done in situ but can be tricky so we strip the linkage from the vehicle, clean and inspect then fit all new bushes.
