How to replace a VW T4 Top Ball Joint.
Clean dirt and rust from the top of the old top ball joint, so the old retaining clip can be located.
Using a suitable tool of your choice remove the clip (this can be fiddly).
Remove the 24mm bottom nut.
Remove the 18 mm bolt.
With the bottom nut removed and the eccentric adjuster will drop out.
Remove the ball joint from the top arm by using the special tool or support the arm and hammer out.
Separate the top half of the adjuster from the old ball joint.
Clean the top arm (this is important as the slightest speck of rust will hinder the new ball joint going in nice).
Grease the arm and the ball joint and get it in position.
Using the special tool press the ball joint all the way until it stops.
Fit new retaining pin.
Rebuild in reverse order.
